So I have always wanted to drive under off road conditions. Well lucky for me I got to do just that courtesy of the Volkswagen Driving Academy. The day started off with coffee and a brief theory session on the Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI at La’Wiida Lodge and Conference Centre.
While I was taking in the beauty of La’Wiida Lodge I spotted this Little meerkat digging around. At some point he actually posed for a photo and played around my feet.
The VW Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI has great features 4motion permanent four-wheel drive system with centre differential, off-road mode with hill descent control, Bi-Xenon with LED daytime running and dynamic cornering lighting and start-stop system with brake-energy recuperation.
I am not going to go on and on about things I know nothing about but I will say this though as I was driving up and downhill I could feel the seat belt tighten automatically. That is one of the pecks of getting the new Touareg. Should you get involved in a crash the seat belt will prevent you from being thrown out of the car. I especially enjoyed when one of the obstacles involved suspending one side of the car in the air. Even though it was suspended the Touareg was well balanced and it felt really safe driving it.
We had fun driving around in different terrains at the Hennops Trails close to Hartbeespoort. Other obstacles included water and rocky paths. I love how the Touareg drives through with very little difficulty.
At Lunch time we headed back to La’Wiida Game Lodge and had a very hearty meal followed by a game drive around the Lodge. La’Wiida Lodge is situated in Centurion on the route to Hartbeespoort and they offer a wide variety of services including, conferencing & events facilities, Accommodation, camping and game drives just to mention a few.
I spotted a couple of animals around the lodge as we were driving. My favourite were the 2 giraffes that call La’Wiida Lodge home.
A fun fact about these 2 giraffes is that they are both male.Of course we all asked why they did not have a female.According to the tour guide they can not have a lot of giraffes at the lodge. They can have 3 at most as the environment is not permitting for more giraffes. If there was a female then they would reproduce and they will have to be separated.
I really had lot’s of fun thanks to our instructors Donovan and Matthew who are super cool. Check out how the sexy and beastly Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI looks on the trails
