Black women’s hair is very versatile and flexible so it bends and moves to our wishes; so stylist and content creator Centich Toko and I came together in front of the camera to create this amazing project photographed by Lebogang Ditibane. In this shoot Centich had an Afro hair piece sown on top of her dreadlocks and Centich used a long Afro twist hair piece to give me long hair at the back and leave some of my hair at the front and blended the two together to create a more natural look. We collaborated with photographer Lebogang Ditibane who was shot using film at his home studio. The pictures were shot in the dark and Lebo made use of varied light settings to create these images. The flowers were brought in to be used as a crown and part of my hair to brighten up the different looks and styles of hair. Also as an testament of how black women bloom endlessly because our hair allows us to be.

I am an avid traveler with a background in copywriting, social media management, art exhibition and music festival curation. I am a huge bookworm who not only enjoys getting lost in books, but I also enjoy writing on topics such as travel, art and fashion. I am interested in working in any projects relating to copywriting for small businesses, fiction writing, curating exhibitions for visual artists in Africa. I am also keen to work with small businesses in developing their social media strategies. Africa is my first love and I am currently having a great time exploring her.
