Boyzn Bucks a well-known South African group that has positively influenced Pop Culture will be dropping their Boyzn Bucks Racing Club LookBook video very soon. I am so excited to see what they have been up to, judging from the pictures they had a lot of fun. I wonder if they will have open days for the public, the inner racer in me would love that.
On his Facebook page Okmalumkoolkat, Boyzn Buck member had this to say about the group and where there are headed: “#Boyznbucks is the coming together not only of a group of friends but a collective of skills with a love for music. With music as the starting point the Boyzn are poised for future projects in everything from fashion to art and beyond. The aim is to export South African culture and ultimately influence the kids, letting them know that they can do the same, be proud of who they are and where they come from”
While we wait for the lookbook video, they have released some dope photos. Check out the pictures below

The first ever Ratu International festival will be launched in October this year in Douala, Cameroon. The festival is aimed at showcasing Cameroon fashion, movies and music. The woman behind the festival Miss Ratu Erma Olierhoek created the festival with the main goal to create opportunities for networking and to reach beyond Cameroon. The festival has attracted both international and national interest and the organizers hope to leave a lasting impression and more importantly they hope to make a difference.
For an effective event, there are three core activities to ensure a fair and consistent selection:
– Competitions to promote young designers, movie producers and musicians,
– Workshop to educate young designers, movie producers and musicians
– Exhibitions , concerts and gala to celebrate with both national and international guests
Participants in all categories are expected to submit their materials to the team via designated channels such as the website, the Facebook page and others to be announced. The selection criteria will ensure that participants are fairly evaluated and rewarded as merit. The members of the jury are high profiled professionals with more than 50 years of combined experience at both international and national levels in the fashion and entertainment industries.
10 designers will showcase their designers , 3 movies will be screened and 9 musicians will be chosen to perform.

A few weeks ago I attended The Boombox SA’s event at The City in Maboneng Precinct. The event was about different elements of the Hip Hop culture, from cyphers, performances, rap battles, bboying and so on. It was a really cool experience as I looked on as the BBoys were doing their thing on the floor and as the fans cheered on for their favourite BBoys, rappers and performers. H2O were the special guests and no doubt the crowd favourites and their performance was great.

On the 28th of March I was lucky to attend my first ever Jazz festival at the Duma Grounds in Gaborone. With stars like South Africa’s musicians, Zonke Dikana, Stimela and Mahotela Queens, Dikapapa, Punah Gabasiane headlining the festival, it sure promised to be a great event. Thank you to my friend Modisa for hooking me up with the ticket. Excitement filled the air as cars and pedestrians made their way to the festival to celebrate and have some fun. The grounds were packed by 6pm and my biggest disappointment is that the youth was nowhere to be found. I am told it’s not because the youth was not interested but because the promoters did not do anything to entice the youth and they offered no room to collaborate with bloggers and other influencers.
Nonetheless some people showed up and they looked really great.Check out the pictures below.
